Description

We are excited to have designed and manufactured the new RR Racing Ultimate Steering Response System (USRS) Road & Track. USRS Road & Track is an upgraded lower control arm (LCA) bushing and housing. It is not often that a product offers so much for such a reasonable price and easy installation!

Ever read magazine articles comparing Lexus and BMW's, filled with complaints about Lexus's lack of steering "feel?" Our goal with the Lexus LCA upgrade was to significantly improve steering feel and turn-in response. One of the problems with the Lexus front suspension is the soft rear control arm bushing. Not only does this bushing deflect laterally under load, but it also deflects fore/aft under braking, leading to imprecise and sometimes "wandering" steering feel caused by movement of the effective contact patch of the tire. All current aftermarket offerings address the lateral deflection, but do little to eliminate the fore/aft deflection that leads to dynamic toe changes under braking and cornering.

By eliminating excessive movement of the soft stock lower control arm bushing, we dramatically improved steering response and feel during hard cornering, without the excessive vibration and harshness associated with race-only hard spherical bearings. As illustrated in our image gallery, the OEM suspension control arms, under braking and cornering, actually move with respect to the chassis. This results in increased understeer, non-linear steering response, and reduced stability under hard braking conditions, and in many cases excessive inner tire wear, a well known problem on many Lexus models. We have designed our USRS to significantly reduce all dynamic toe changes and lateral deflections!

Please watch the video below for a detailed overview of USRS and on-car comparison between USRS and the Lexus OEM bushing.

Summary of Features:

  • Our bushing virtually eliminates unwanted suspension movement, that lead to changes in toe, caster, and camber while turning and braking.
  • Our redesigned housing increases static caster by 0.3-0.5 degrees. Increased caster improves steering feel and camber gain when cornering.
  • Comes as a complete and assembled bushing & housing assembly - no costly labor and hassle in pressing out old OEM bushings.
  • Redesigned 6061-T6 lower control arm housing designed to be stronger than OEM to withstand increased thrust loads.
  • Extremely tough 95A durometer polyurethane bushing -- backed by our lifetime guarantee!
  • Polyurethane bushing features fully fluted design on shaft and thrust side for enhanced lubrication. Also features end seal to keep dirt out.
  • Track tested and track proven on our shop IS-F, IS350 and on RCF!

All components in this product are proudly engineered and manufactured here in the United States of America.

Slightly, I mean slightly noisy on street but worked great on track. I am fine with it.

5 of 5 Great product, shipping took a while February 15, 2023

As a Lexus fan and owner of six current and previously Lexus's, I'll always come back to purchase the USRS. Makes the handling so much better, specifically with turn-in and when the car hits a bump in the road, I don't lose the tracking when riding on OE lower control arm bushings. Next will have to try their coilovers and see if they are better than my Fortune Auto's I've been running.

5 of 5 I was skeptical... January 15, 2019

But boy am I glad I trusted you guys on this upgrade.  I hated how sloppy the steering feel was on my 3IS, and really didn’t believe that swapping the LCA bushings would make such a noticeable difference in turn-in and standard steering response - but it does, and it is easily the best mod for the cost I think I’ve ever done to a car.  It feels like a brand new car, and the way it probably should feel from the factory.  I haven’t noticed the ‘harsh’ ride some people have described, but I like to feel the road when I’m driving a car.  10/10, I’d recommend this as a first mod to anyone who enjoys spirited driving!

4 of 5 Great product for racers August 21, 2017

This is a great product...IF you race.  I would prefer a bushing in between this and the stock for street use.
Street use will be jarring on rough roads, so make sure you don't have anything loose in the glove box or console as it will rattle loudly...smooth roads are great though.

I prefer the tighter steering and will put up with the rougher ride for now...long term I will see if it causes rattles to occur behind the dash.
